This is the question that Father Augustin, a missionary with the Society of African Missions (S.M.A), asks himself every day.
He has seen first hand how Ghana’s children are being abused and neglected, forced to forego an education so they can work in the fields or, even worse, torn from their families and sold into child slavery.
His answer?
The creation of a new school located at Adukrom, an outskirt of Kumasi in Ghana called the SOCIETY OF AFRICAN MISSIONS SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL (S.M.A-SHS). Started in September 2007 with 145 students (of which 85% are Muslim), Father Augustin hopes to admit 150 more students this year.
Father Augustin believes fervently that education is the key to helping the children of Ghana. He dreams of a day when Africa has a more human face and when the abuses of child trafficking, child labor and poverty are a thing of the past.
He believes in this so strongly that he has dedicated his life to this purpose.
What are you willing to give?
